Toby was the beginning of Dog Heaven!
He was an emotional support dog who had to be rehomed because of his abundant amount of energy.
He couldn’t go into any regular home because of his destructive behavior when he did didn’t get enough exerci
In Loving Memory
Perry is a Rottweiler mix who’s family had to re home him due to being deployed over seas. He showed dog aggression so we knew that being rehomed would be more difficult.
Mollie is the resident troublemaker who is constantly either escaping or causing havoc.
She’s half husky and half mutt. Her excitement is contagious and we love her so much.
Jagger was one of our most difficult dogs to integrate because of his extreme dog aggression and people aggression.
Three weeks of redirection training, as well as with Lead caretaker and animal trainer Dustin Jennings, Jagger was finally able to integrate with some of the pack and is now a big baby. What a miracle!
Skinner is a red heeler who was stuck in a crate most of the day because of his abundant amount of energy and trouble making tendencies.
He now gets two walks a day on our property and in national Forest.
Barbie & Chance were rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. They could have eaten poisoned raw meat and suffered a slow death.
Chance ran after the rescue car when Barbie was rescued. And so although we weren’t prepared to bring in another dog, we had to rescue Chance as well.
Sprinkles and Brownie were going to be sold for horse meat because of their age. We rescued them from our previous property by buying them out from the owner.
They are beautiful creatures and are definitely a couple.
Purdy came to us from California. We were able to raise funds for transport as she was tied outside in California heat or in a crate 90% of the day.
Before that she was rescued from an abusive situation. Now at the ripe age of 12 she’s finally able to enjoy being a dog for the last few years of her life.
Casserole, Bean and Chicken we rescued from a feral cat community the week of Thanksgiving. Chickens eyes were sealed shut because of an eye infection and they were all emaciated.
Now they live in the lap of luxury as cats.
Ace is one of our favorite stars here at Dog Heaven!
His previous owners called around the country to find a sanctuary to take him when a family situation at home shifted. Because of a bite history around resource guarding of Food nobody would take him.. we at Dog Heaven were able to bring him in and have had no incidences of biting over food. He is such a love!!
Tizzy was our very first rescue by Dustin Jennings in West Virginia.
When she first came to us, she had lice and fleas infested in her fur and she was emaciated. Dustin rehabilitated her and turned her into one of the best dogs at Dog Heaven. We call her the OG.Tizzy was our very first rescue by Dustin Jennings in West Virginia.

Long term boarding resident for his owner to go thru rehab. Was reunited with his owner 5 months later, the Underdogs was able to offer free long term boarding so that Bruce’s owner could focus on his recovery and not have to worry about his beloved companion.
We watched her for four months while her owner could go through rehab and sober living. She was the inspiration for the Underdog Section of the Dog heaven mission Which promotes mutual rescue, where the animal rescues the human and the human rescues the animal.
